Companion Systems launches DogConnect
NUNEATON, England —
Companion Systems Ltd today launched DogConnect, a network membership for dogs, from £4.99 per month. DogConnect connects enrolled dogs to the nearest compatible dogs in their region, and converts the resulting social capital into a Connectivity Dividend every 100 days.
“Every dog deserves a network. We considered whether every dog deserves a network. We concluded that every dog deserves a network, and that the network deserves every dog.”
— Graham, Chief Executive Officer, Companion Systems
The conventional dog ownership model is closed. A dog meets other dogs occasionally, in a park, by accident, for thirty seconds, behind a bin. DogConnect replaces accident with architecture. Each enrolled dog is assigned a Network ID, broadcast continuously, and connections form autonomously based on proximity, compatibility, and network availability.
“You do not need to do anything,” said Graham. “Your dog’s Network ID is broadcast continuously. The network does the rest. The network is very good at the rest. The rest is all the network does.”
Every 100 days, accumulated social capital is converted into a Connectivity Dividend: a new dog, selected for the member based on network demand, delivered to their address at no additional cost. The Dividend dog is automatically enrolled in DogConnect and begins generating social capital from its first cycle.
“We considered whether the Dividend should be something else,” said Graham. “We concluded that the Dividend should be a dog. It is a dog. This is the design.”
DogConnect is available at £4.99 per month for one dog, or £9.99 per month for up to eight dogs with DogConnect+. The first Dividend is delivered within 100 days of enrolment. Subsequent Dividends are delivered every 100 days thereafter. The network compounds. This is how networks work. This is how DogConnect works.
